About Us

Carolina Foothills Eldercare (CFE) is a nonprofit 501c 3 organization that provides extra support to Rutherford and Polk County residents age 60 and older.  The goal of the multi-faceted Eldercare agency is to enhance seniors’ ability to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.  


Carolina Foothills Eldercare provides home care services on a sliding scale fee basis.  Most other services are provided at no cost or based on what the recipient can pay.


Carolina Foothills Eldercare receives funding from the Carolina Foothills Foundation, the Carolina Foothills Eldercare Resale Shop, and from grants, individuals, businesses and churches. We are continually seeking additional funding sources to sustain the program. All donations to Carolina Foothills Eldercare program are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Home Care

In-home support up to six hours per week, offering personal care, daily assistance, and essential supplies to help you remain at home.

Food Program

Two hot meals delivered three days a week for qualifying seniors, plus food boxes, pantry assistance, and Polk County meal referrals.

Medical Alerts

In-home medical alert systems that contact EMS and a designated person in case of emergency, providing added safety and peace of mind.

Accessibility Repairs

Home safety improvements including portable ramps, grab bars, and assessments to help make homes safer and more accessible.

Transportation
